In a bitter place, where exhaustion was felt and miracles had been forgotten, an entitled cry for help was heard.
Rather than patiently waiting upon a Loving Father's provision who had proven that He always provides, this resentful cry was anxiously demanding that basic needs be filled rather than to peacefully ask for and calmly wait upon what God had already planned to give.
Forgetting that He is called Jehovah-Jireh, worry muted out of their minds the meaning of His identity. Why was it so easy to omit to consider the many times where He has done as His character indicates?
He knows our needs and knows where He is leading us. He is Jehova-Rohi.
He sees our valleys before we do and knows of our peaks before we reach them. He is El-Roi.
Still then, no matter how many times a person walks and talks with the Lord; no matter how many times El-Elyon provided through fulfilled promises and miracles, immediate need seems to quickly blind a person to the provisions of the past, and the Truthful Promises of His Word.
What a patient, loving and gentle God is One who constantly reminds, constantly provides for a dependent being who often forgets that he is the servant and not the master.
Thank you for your love & patience, Abba. Please restore my heart and mind that I may have all my faith & hope in You. Help me that I may faitfully pray and be positive and hopeful as I wait upon You. Remind me of who I am in You, I plea. In Jesus' precious & Holy name I pray, Amen.
